They never seem to have the lasagna and that irks me a lot! The pizza is "ok" but I think I could be fine with never eating it again and I think even the Dough Bowl is better. The location is off Broadway next to the graveyard way off in the middle of a neighborhood and they keep the door locked so it makes picking up your food a bit shady and the building looks a bit run down and super slim shady. They could do a little bit of work and make a much more pleasant outdoor dining area and with some more work they could probably even make some indoor dining space. As it currently stands this place is only good for delivery or carry-out. Personally I've given up on ever attempting to get the lasagna again and the pizza doesn't inspire me at all so I doubt I will ever return.

The pizza is good. The ability to answer the phone is HORRIBLE. 4out5 times I've called here, i've given up and gone elsewhere because they don't answer the phone.

I have been eating Roman Pizza for... 20 (!) years, since I discovered it in high school & it became my main food source in college. It's a gem, food- and people-wise. The pizza, sandwiches, wings, salads, and the garlic cheese bread (you can hear angels whistle!) are the best. I've read complaints that they're hard to reach, but I've never had much of an issue--definitely not enough to keep me from the food and those guys. I really want people to support this place. It will be looked back on as a New Orleans institution someday. My heart and stomach will always be loyal.

Wow I love this place so much. Stellar pizza and great service. Don't let the exterior aesthetic fool you!! Roman pizza a real hidden gem and I will certainly be coming back!!

Delicious!!! Just moved to Nola and my bf and I wanted some pizza and found this place a few blocks away, and it's delicious!!! The guy was working alone, but super friendly! Our pizza was amazing!! Just basic pepperoni. And we indulged in the smileysticks, soooooo good!!! Definitely will be going back!

I like the good from here, pizza and cheese sticks are both tasty. I can never get someone to answer the phone tho..I have tried ordering quite a few times but ended up ordering from somewhere else since no one wanted to take my order...and I'm not talking late night calls either, 7-8 o'clock at night...prime time pizza time!

What a gem! It's tucked away in what used to be an old gas station right next to the cemetery. Yes, it looks sketchy, and many times looks like it may have closed. Although they claim that they don't allow pick up after 9pm, I have found that if you tap on the window and give them sad puppy dog eyes they will let you inside (protip: make sure your guns/knives/bowstaffs/etc aren't visible when you do this....that might ruin the puppy effect). The pizza is pretty good - not the best in the city (slice or PD), but much better than your domino's or the nearby dough bowl (an less saturated with drunk 18 year olds). Plus it has more of a home-made taste to it, so you don't feel as disgusting after you eat. My personal favorites are the juan's pizza with a side of smiley sticks. What are smiley sticks? They are "Cheese sticks with pepperoni, bacon, feta and jalapenos." Yes, I know!!!! (Cue The Sound of Music's "these are a few of my favorite things" and proceed to dance about with drool flying out of your mouth....oh that's just me?) On top of all that, the workers are always super friendly and the prices are cheap.

Roman Pizza...I want to love you. I've had you many times before...we used to be regular friends last summer. What happened? In the past four months, I have tried calling at varying hours, but you never answer. WHY YOU NO PICK UP PHONE?!?!? I always end up having to order from elsewhere and am left feeling disappointed. If you could, I don't know, at least post your hours and regularly maintain them, it would be nice---for everyone. Just a suggestion.

Oh Roman; I've heard the hype, and it took me literally a year to reach a verdict, but now I know that it's true: You. Are. Incredible. My one major complaint with Roman Pizza is the store hours. I've walked by at dinnertime in the middle of the week, and the storefront is closed...but I want pizza! I finally succeeded in getting Roman's delivered to my house (expediently, and not too expensively either). As for the pizza itself: five stars, all around, for all time, forever. The ingredients were so fresh, and tasted so vital and flavorful....that I actually ate the entire pizza by myself in one siting. Impressive, yes, and a little embarrassing, but more than that it's a testament to how much I love Roman Pizza...and that's saying something, because I'm picky with my bread-and-sauce combos. Roman put the right amount of sauce on the delicious crusty bread, topped it with just enough cheese and some deliciously fresh toppings, baked it until it was crispy and delicious, and put it in a box and brought it to me. Bigfoot happy. The end.

Darn cravings get me into trouble every time. Tonight I was craving lasagna. I kept thinking about the lasagna from Louisiana Pizza Kitchen that I had at a playoffs party earlier this year. I was going to order take-out, only to find out that it is only on their catering menu. Enter Roman Pizza, a hole-in-the-wall carry out and delivery place near my house. I have ordered from Roman Pizza before- pizza (which has ranged from greasy to good, and is pricey for the smaller size) and the spinach sandwich (OK but there is a similar yet better version at Babylon) but never any entrees. I was happy to discover that they offered lasagna and placed an order. When I went to pick it up, I was told they had made a mistake, they didn't have any lasagna (what?!). Did they have manicotti? No. They had baked ziti. Oh wait, they had SPINACH lasagna. OK, I'll take that. I was told it would be ready in 7 minutes, so I went home and returned a few minutes later (there is not a waiting area and I didn't feel like sitting in my car). The entrees are accompanied by garlic bread (really more of a pizza crust). I recommend splurging and adding cheese to the garlic bread. You can add a small salad for $1.99. I ordered the Greek salad. It wasn't particularly innovative, but it was a good value for $1.99. The spinach lasagna was good enough to satisfy my craving, but I wouldn't say it was good. It was alfredo based, and very greasy. It was a generous portion, enough for leftovers or to share. In the future, if I am having similar cravings, I might try the classic lasagna. But tonight's experience reminded me why I have only ordered from Roman Pizza a handful of times in 8 years.

I feel bad writing this review, since I assume the owners of this place must want to keep it open for a reason I'm struggling to imagine, but I also felt bad after eating their pizza---as in ill, as in "Do they sell stomach pumps in Walgreens?" bad. It tastes like someone knocked over a basil plant into the sauce. The cheese, an unappealing pumpkin color with the consistency of vulcanized rubber. I kind of felt like a puppy with a chew toy. Maybe I caught them on an off night and I'm being unfair, but here's the deal: If your establishment is called "Roman Pizza," then you better get the pizza part right. It's not called "Roman's." It's not called "Roman's Bail Bonds." It's not called "Roman's Vasectomies and Donut Holes," though it might as well be. Pizza: that's why you exist, right?

So tonight we decided to branch out our pizza tastes. After being turned away from the Mellow Mushroom on Oak because their kitchen was "closed" at 11:15 (when they theoretically close at 12), we made a last ditch call to Roman Pizza around 11:45, another place we've never been. They took our order, let us pick it up (even though apparently they don't allow pick ups after 9), and had it ready right away. They, too, close at 12, but made the extra effort to accommodate us. The guy who served us told us he had been closing up everything but felt bad "because we sounded hungry." For that alone I am grateful. The pizza was pretty darn good as well and the jalapenos we had on it were quite spicy. The place is indeed sketchy looking, but the staff seems quite friendly and you can drive up directly in front of the place if nobody else is there, or just have it delivered.

I used to eat at these guys all the time in college. My girlfriend moved to New Orleans for grad school, so on my first visit here, I wanted to do something I hadn't done in 13 years: Eat a Roman Pizza. Sadly, their delivery radius is super-weak: They wouldn't even deliver to Sixth and St. Charles, which is only _3 miles away_! It was cold, rainy, and I offered to pay them any amount of money to deliver a pizza -- they refused. Oh well, maybe it would have been better if they'd stayed shuttered after Katrina.

Just revamped the menu. You have to try the smileysticks - more like a calzone with pepperoni, feta, mozzarella, and jalepenos..with a red gravy dipping sauce. So, glad we tried - it was yum dillyicious!!! Always liked the pizza, it's delivered quickly by happy drivers.

I've never dined in, but I've always had great experiences with them ordering out. They make a decent pizza, and awesome bread. don't forget to order the garlic cheese bread. please don't forget.

GOOOOD pizza! I used to live right next to this place and ate it all the time. I'm bummed that I live a few miles away now because I can't just walk down the street to pick it up. Try the juan and deans or the chicken caesar sandwich. It's all pretty dank. Props to Roman for serving good, cheesy, hot pizza located in the middle of nowhere haha

For conveyor belt pizza it's pretty good but if I had a choice between Roman's and just about anywhere else in the city (save the Louisiana Pizza Kitchen their food is just so bland) I would choose anywhere else. A major plus for this place is they deliver until 3am - perfect food if you are trying to get sober before 8am work.

I am a New Orleans native, and me and my boyfriend have dined here for over 7+ years. In our opinion it's the ONLY place worth ordering Pizza from. Granted I have only tired their pizza so I can't comment on any of their other options. The only way me and my boyfriend describe their pizza is as "cartoon" pizza. I know that sounds odd, but we all know what I am talking about. Whenever pizza is eaten on a cartoon show it looks fantastic.....the cheese just melts off and strings off the pizza and into your mouth. Roman pizza is the closest thing I have came to when it comes to "cartoon" pizza. Not to mention Roman pizza has been around for a very long time, so they must be doing something right! Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that on a few occasions, the delivery time took way to long! But the pizza was stilll "cartoon" worthy! :-)

I ordered a chicken parm, if I had seen the place first...I wouldnt have. The pizza may be good, never tried it. If you go at night you may feel like you're their for a drug deal.

really hard to find when i went with my friends, we took the GPS and we thought the GPS was acting up but we finally found it and there is no dine in place and there was only one person working there. we ordered the bbq chicken pizza and i have to admit the pizza was good. a little too overprized but it was good but it wasnt worth the drive and the money i rather have spent the 16 bucks for a 16" someplace else. Try Slice off of st. charles i believe? place is better and the dine in experience is pretty nice.
